Just in case anyone should be curious, I decided to include a section about
myself on this site. This section is by no means complete, but it will give you
a rough idea of who I am and what I like. Perhaps one day I'll include pictures
in this section.
Please click on the rose petals to read about me.

I am currently a senior at Judson College in
Marion, Alabama. I'm majoring in English with minors in Web Site Design and
Maintenance, and Technical Communications. If all goes well, I should finish my
degree by the end of the spring semester, 2002.

I live in Huntsville, Alabama with my mother
and father. My older sister Jennifer is an absolutely fabulous musician who can
play just about anything, and who teaches lessons for piano, guitar, and
violin.
My boyfriend Brent is a student at the
University of Alabama in Huntsville. He's studying Foreign Language and
International Trade (FLIT) and should be finishing up in the spring of 2003, at
which point he plans to spend some time in Germany. Brent speaks German fluidly
and enjoys studying Latin, which he considers to be a very useful language. He
also speaks some Japanese, and bits of Chinese.
I have a Siberian Husky named Chief who lives
with my parents and my sister's dog Bear. He's a sweetheart, and I look forward
to spending a lot more time with him when I go back to Huntsville for good.
I also have three fish who keep me company in
my dorm room. Their names are Sushi, Wasabe, and Sake. I acquired Sushi when my
suitemate, Torey, decided that she wanted to get a fish. I firmly declared that
I personally would never try to take care of a fish again, since in my
experience they tended to last three days at most before floating to the top of
the tank. I decided to give it a try, though, and now over a year later I have
three very hearty fish who simply refuse to croak. (Not that I really want them
to. I've gotten sort of attached to them.) All three of them are male betas.
Sushi is turquoise blue, Wasabe is red with hints of lavender, and Sake is sort
of a deep blue/purple with some red in there somewhere

Eventually I'll get around to putting
something about each of my friends in this section, but it would take me so
long to adequately describe how wonderful they are that that's going to have to
wait for a while.... ~_^

I am hopelessly addicted to Japanese
animation, also known as Anime. My favorite shows include Bishoujo Senshi
Sailor Moon, Trigun, Cardcaptor Sakura, and Haunted Junction. I'm a member of
the Huntsville Alabama Anime Society (HAAS) where I can be found watching a
variety of shows nearly every Saturday night. I prefer my anime in Japanese
with English Subtitles, since that's the form that's closest to the original
intent of the show.
I am an avid reader, favoring Science Fiction
and Fantasy. My favorite authors include C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, Stephen
R. Lawhead, and many, many others.
Most of the time the music blaring from my
dorm room window has a celtic flare. My favorite artists/groups include
Clannad, Enya, Maire Brennan, Capperceili, and Loreena McKennitt. Being an
Anime fan, I also listen to a lot of J-Pop. Currently I'm addicted to several
musical selections from the video game Dance Dance Revolution by Konami.

In my scant spare time, I like to make Anime Music Videos by taking video
footage from my favorite shows and splicing it together with some of my
favorite music. I'm still working on my first one, with footage from Sailor
Moon S set to Simon and Garfunkle's "Sound of Silence." I also
collect AMVs that other people have created and posted on the internet. Since
the files are rather large I'm rapidly running out of hard drive space!
I also like to make guest strips for Stupidity in 8 Bits, a web-comic
loosely based on people and events from HAAS. I'm considering starting my own
spin-off, if I ever find the time.
Music is an important part of my life, and I enjoy singing very much. I have
also played cello since fourth grade, and have a small lap harp that I can play
a few songs on. When I'm in Huntsville for any extended length of time, I play
with the Good Fortune Ceilidh Band, an informal group that gathers once a week
to play celtic music. We get an occasional gig at Burritt Museum, and played at
the Scottish Heritage Festival in Madison in the Spring of 2001.

Eventually I'll put a list of my favorite things in this section. Please

Eventually I'll include a section about what I plan to do with my life. If
that sort of thing interests you, please check back later.

You may have noticed that several of my poems have a religious theme. I am a
Christian and have dedicated my life and work to Jesus Christ. Eventually this
section of the page will contain a paragraph or three about my personal
beliefs, and why I believe as I do.
