a puppy's life

the puppy pounced on solid shine
with happy young and cheer excite
then wiggled soft and licked with pink
and snuggled sleep in arms of hug
it chewed the house and digged the lawn
and fetched the tennis ball with get
it slept in warm and flopped on patch
and never bothered chill or wet
with tail all full of good-willed wag
its bounce was pawed about with games
it loved with trust and played with bark
and only wanted more of same.
